They later moved on to reproducing popular throwbacks of hall of fame, football (Throwbacks), and NHL (Vintage Hockey) players. Mitchell & Ness also received a significant boost from numerous celebrities as well as athletes, wearing throwback jerseys on T.V and music videos.USA Today reported that as of May 2002, the most popular NBA players for Mitchell & Ness were Julius Erving, followed by Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, and Larry Bird.Company historyMitchell & Ness Sporting Goods first opened its doors in Philadelphia in 1904. Frank P. Mitchell, a former AAU tennis and wrestling champ, and Charles M. Ness, an avid golfer born in Scotland, together founded Mitchell & Ness Sporting Goods in 1904. Their original store made and strung hand-crafted tennis rackets and, using imported woods from Scotland, constructed custom-made golf clubs. In time, they expanded their business, selling uniforms to local baseball and football teams. When the Philadelphia Eagles entered the young National Football League in 1933, M&N supplied the team jerseys and equipment. Mitchell & Ness would continue to outfit the Eagles through the 1963 season. The first time that the Mitchell & Ness label appeared on a major league baseball uniform the Philadelphia Athletics was in 1938. In the early 1940s, M&N began to supply Philadelphia other major league baseball team the Phillies. By the end of the decade, the Mitchell & Ness label was appearing on high school and college team uniforms throughout the Philadelphia area.In the late 1970s, Mitchell & Ness had dropped the team business to concentrate on its retail operation. The store became a leading outlet for field hockey equipment and ski gear.Mitchell & Ness almost went bankrupt in 1983. Owner Peter Capolino told the Detroit Free Press, “By 1983 all the expansion I had done had gone to hell. I fired 100 people, closed two warehouses. I reduced the company to a little store at 13th and Walnut Streets (in Philadelphia). It was down to just me and my wife.”In 1985, a customer walked into the store and asked if M&N could repair his 1960 Pirates game-worn vest, and his 1949 St Louis Browns game-worn shirt. They were both made of wool flannel as all baseball uniforms had been. Mitchell & Ness found that it could do it, and with the realization that M&N was capable of this task, an idea was born: Reproduce historically accurate wool-flannel baseball uniforms.Mitchell & Ness recruited history buffs and sports gurus. They dug through old newspapers, periodicals, books, programs, and old film footage. They consulted vintage uniform collectors throughout the country and visited the archives at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.Major League Baseball teams had stopped wearing wool flannel jerseys by 1972. Teams now wear double-knit polyester jerseys. In a dusty warehouse in North Philadelphia, Mitchell & Ness discovered rolls of old baseball flannel from 50 years earlier. They were still carefully wrapped, untouched, and in like-new condition ready to be cut and sewn. The flannel was sewn. The lettering and patches were recreated and applied. The jerseys were completed, and they were offered for sale. The first shirts sold almost overnight. So did the second batch of a dozen or more. In time, Mitchell & Ness attracted customers from across the United States. Sports Illustrated wrote a flattering piece about M&N in June 1987. The New York Times wrote about the company two years later.Since these first vintage jerseys, M&N has expanded its offerings.

Look great. Play Great. http://GetBestGolfSwingTips.com

When someone says a polo shirt or a golf shirt, he or she would be referring to a tennis shirt. This type of t-shirt comes with a collar, a few buttons in the front slit and two side slits on the bottom. It may or may not have a pocket. The most commonly used knitted material to make a tennis shirt is pique cotton. Sometimes silk, merino wool or synthetic fibers are used.

It was a Frenchman called Rene Lacoste, a 7-time tennis Grand Slam winner, who first created the tennis shirt. He thought of bringing changes in tennis apparel because during the nineteenth to early twentieth century, tennis players were wearing long-sleeved shirts, trousers and ties to the court. These type of attire were more suitable for people working in the office as the dress shirts were simply too stiff and the ties too heavy. Lacoste’s design, named after himself, comprised of a thick collar, a loose non-starched pique cotton shirt with side slits at the bottom, a longer shirt-tail at the back. The main reason to have an easily upturnable collar that was thicker than the shirt was to protect the tennis player’s neck from sun burns. The interesting thing was the polo players had already been using this design since the late nineteenth century. Before Lacoste’s tennis shirt design made its debut in 1929, polo players were wearing thick Oxford-cloth cotton made long-sleeved shirts and button-down collar. Although the collar design kept the wind from constantly flapping it, the polo shirt then was generally inconvenient to wear. Therefore when they discovered Lacoste’s line of tennis shirts in the 1930s, they did not hesitate to adopt his design.

It was not long before the term polo shirt became synonymous with tennis shirt. By the 1950s, polo shirts were commonly considered as part of the formal tennis attire in America. Even the tennis players themselves referred to their attire as a “polo shirt”. In actual fact, this type of t-shirt was first worn in a tennis court rather than in a game of polo and had a longer history in the tennis sports world.

In 1967, the popularity of polo shirts sky-rocketed when Ralph Lauren incorporated polo shirts as a leading product into his original clothing line called Polo. Though this type of shirts were not designed to wear for polo games, Lauren’s polo shirts were a good imitation of the then formal polo attire.

As golf attire become more easygoing and less formal in the twentieth century, golf also adopted tennis shirt as its standard attire. Most golfers today, male and female alike, are wearing tennis shirts. For the ladies, tennis shirts can be custom made in different kinds of colors. But because golf is an entirely different game from tennis, it requires different design of cuts on the tennis shirt, resulting in the monicker “golf shirt”. Now that tennis shirt is so commonly worn in today’s society, it has its own niche in the market. Since both men and women wear it in any and every occasion, almost every fashion producer started to invent at least a version or variation of Lacoste’s tennis shirt for non-athletics purposes. At the same time, tennis shirts are just the perfect substitute attire for jobs where round collar-t-shirts are deemed unacceptable and yet formal business wear is deemed overdressed, such as for semi-professional and retail workers. Tennis shirts are widely accepted as smart and casual wear.

Its rough and ready style also makes it a favored shirt for those working outdoors, such as field guides and labourers. During the 1990s, the tennis shirt became the standard business informal/casual attire for the high tech industry and then spread to other industries. Company logos are often printed on these tennis shirts to be used as custom corporate apparel. Some government officials in India wear tennis shirts as standard work attire.

Tennis shirts are without doubt very fashionable in sports. Officials such as caddies, some retired golf professionals, umpires and sports announcers wear tennis shirts on a regular basis. Besides that, tennis shirts are also popular in many schools, especially junior schools. Both boys and girls wear tennis shirts as part of their compulsory uniform to schools. Because tennis shirts are closely associated with sports, they come in all sorts of light colors. The most typical color is white.

The modern tennis shirt has a special feature called a “tennis tail”. This design is taken from the original Lacoste, whereby the back is cut a few centimeters longer than the front so that when the tennis player leans forward, the shirt will still stay tucked properly in his shorts. In addition, a tennis shirt’s collar can be easily upturned to protect the player’s neck from the sun.

The tennis shirt or polo shirt will continue to occupy a niche in the fashion industry, regardless of the changing trends and times. It has become an essential wear in our daily lives.

The key is to choose the most appropriate Superfeet Insole for your feet. Not everyone needs orthotic supports and therefore; those people may need a different type of insole. Superfeet Insoles are three-dimensional, which means the insoles adapt to the feet for enhanced performance.

Much of the population suffers from an assortment of foot problems. People tend to excessively pronate or supinate when they stand, walk or run, leading to secondary foot ailments. Excessive pronation means that a foot can experience a flat arch or foot elongation. Consequent ailments can either be bunions, knee pain, shin splints, just to name a few. This can rob you of your freedom of motion. Supination, on the other hand, can put a person at risk for ankle sprains, torn ligaments, and tendonitis.

The best way to choose your Superfeet Insoles is to determine which type of feet you have, your desired type of footwear (dressy shoes, office shoes, athletic shoes, sandals), and the kinds of activities you enjoy (do you like to walk, dance, or play basketball several days during the week?). Your insoles have to be carefully chosen depending on your answers to these questions.

This can help you find the best insoles for your interests while helping to improve the comfort and health of your feet.

Note many athletic shoes come with a removable type of insole. If the insole is not of good quality, the cushion effect of these insoles can thin out and eventually disappear, leaving your feet unprotected.

Note that many dress and office shoes do not have removable insoles and consumers often purchase their own insoles. When this happens, the insoles may not fit correctly, which may leave the wearer feeling short-changed.

This is why Superfeet Insoles are the answer to today’s busy feet. Superfeet Insoles are designed to cater to the demands of whichever activity or job you do. For example, if you are an athlete and need efficient shock absorption, the Green or new Berry insole may be the perfect fit. If you go on long cycling tours or if you skate, the yellow Superfeet insole might just be what you need.

More About Superfeet Insoles

Superfeet Insoles were developed and designed by the same people who invented the concept of footbeds more than 25 years ago. The company has had a long term and ongoing relationship with one of the top American orthotic labs. Superfeet own the patent rights to more than 40-foot care products so they are very knowledgeable about foot health.

The insoles are robust and shaped for balance and support. These characteristics make it the top choice of demanding consumers: lightweight design, custom fit, inconspicuous appearance, and feet-friendly.

Examples of Superfeet Insoles

Orange: this Superfeet Insole model is perfect for the rugged male, whose feet take a beating from too much running, walking or standing. The Orange delivers utmost support, thanks to its forefoot shock pad. This model was developed to incorporate an anti-microbial feature to ward off bacteria, effectively fighting foot odors. This yellow insole goes well with male feet characterized by medium to high arches.

Berry: The Berry is the female counterpart of the Orange. It is the most appropriate Superfeet Insole for women who stand, walk, and run for long periods. The Berry also has a forefoot shock pad for comfort and support, as well as the famous Agion® antimicrobial upper cover to diminish bacteria and foot odor. Like the Orange, the Berry is perfect for women with medium to high arches.

Black DMP: this Superfeet Insole is designed for people with extra-sensitive feet and who are unable to wear orthotic devices. While it fits all arch types, it is particularly conducive for low arches. It goes best with golf shoes and athletic footwear that is cleated; an example is mountain biking footwear. It is also a great choice for both casual and dress shoes.

Green: this Superfeet Insole is for you if you ski, snowboard, run, hike, or walk. This type of insole provides protection from shock and if you have a medium to high arch, you may want to consider this Superfeet Insole for daily wear.

There are a variety of Superfeet Insoles available on the market, but it is important to find the best one for your daily activities. These insoles are a great choice for improving the health of your feet while allowing you to enjoy the comfort you expect from your shoes.

With awards that range from “Best New Footwear Brand” to “Charity Event of the Year” UGG Australia, creators of the wildly popular UGG boots are a true corporate success story. Founded in 1978 by an Australian surfer who transplanted himself to California, UGG was originally a brand that featured comfortable shoes. For twenty years, UGG chugged along generating modest but steady sales. In 1998, the company took a major step in another direction. The company, under the guidance of its new corporate overseer, Decker Outdoor Corporation, made a strategic move and positioned itself as a maker of high-end luxury footwear.

In 1998, the UGG footwear line consisted of two boot styles, four slipper styles and a few casual footwear styles. The new positioning as a high-end luxury and high fashion footwear supplier proved to be a perfect fit for UGG Australia. Within three years, the line was regularly being featured in high fashion magazines and photo shoots. The company formed a strategic alliance with Nordstrom and the brand really took off.

As important as the new positioning was to UGG’s success, there was another factor that rocketed UGG Australia’s footwear line to international prominence. In the year 2000, just two years after the strategic repositioning of UGG Australia’s product line, Oprah Winfrey received a pair of UGG boots. The charismatic television host and worldwide celebrity loved the boots so much that she ordered 350 pairs as gifts for her entire staff. She also featured the UGG Ultra Boot on her well-known Oprah’s Favorite Things show.

The response was electric. The UGG brand had arrived. When Oprah featured another UGG boot in her 2003 Oprah’s Favorite Things show, the Baby Pink and Baby Blue UGG Classic Boots from UGG became a runaway holiday bestseller. That year was also the year that UGG Australia’s line was named Footwear News’ Brand of the Year.

Those events were not the end of Oprah’s association with the footwear line, though. The television host featured UGG’s Uptown Boot in her 2005 Favorite Things show, and sales of the sophisticated footwear style skyrocketed overnight. In less than ten years since shifting from ‘comfortable shoes’ to ‘the ultimate in footwear luxury’, UGG has become a high-fashion staple, and created an entire new category of fashion footwear. UGG sheepskin boots, shoes and styles are regularly seen all over the world on high fashion runways.

UGG Australia has not rested on its laurels, though. In 2005, the corporation decided to give back some of its good fortune by championing an important cause. The company partnered with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in a charity event that they cleverly named Art and Sole. UGG Australia challenged selected high profile artists, politicians and celebrities to hand design a pair of Classic Boots. The finished products are auctioned off on eBay, and the proceeds donated to St. Jude’s. In 2005, the event rose over $40,000, and attracted the attention of the philanthropy world. In 2007, Art and Sole was named the Best Charity Event of the Year by Accessories Magazine, a feat usually reserved for glittery parties and golf tournaments. Celebrities who have participated since the event’s inception include Sharon Stone, John Travolta, Reese Witherspoon and Donald Trump.

It is not surprising that most people have seen a pair of UGG’s; either in a store or on the street or featured in a magazine. The famous footwear has been photographed on the feet of some of the world’s most well known folks, including Oprah. The latest UGG celebrity sighting is featured in InSide Style’s “Where Can I Get…?” feature – on the very lovely feet of actress Jessica Alba. InTouch Magazine photographers got a shot of the effervescent Gwen Stefani; toting son Kingston wearing a pair of the company’s famed Baby Boo line of infant boots. US magazine spotted actress Liv Tyler strutting in a swingy baby doll dress all dressed up with a pair of UGG Tasmina sandals, and Star paparazzi snapped Carmen Electra on the street in a stunning pair of women’s Classic Tall boots, one of UGG’s signature lines. Clearly, given the amount of celebrity endorsements, it’s fair to say that the UGG brand has arrived.

The UGG brand has flourished as a high fashion staple. From just a few distinctive styles of boots and casual sandals to dozens of stunning styles in comfortable, luxurious sheepskin, UGG has become a worldwide name in luxury footwear. It’s only taken a few short years – and the company is set for a good, long run at the top.

If Nancy Sinatra knew of Mephisto shoes before she wrote the song, she definitely wouldn’t need her boots for walking. Mephisto shoes have always been proud of its “walking” tradition. If you’re looking for walking comfort and safety, Mephisto is a top brand because of the way each pair is constructed. The company is known for its speed lacing and air-circulating insole designs. One important reason why Mephisto shoes are better than your average shoe is the preference to make each pair manually. Most shoe manufacturers engage in machine production. Mephisto shoes are made by hand, one shoe at a time. Mephisto Shoe Features Make Them BetterMephisto was born in France and have been around for 35 years. The European tradition of shoemaking has made Mephisto shoes synonymous with walking and perfection; they are handcrafted with only the finest materials. Most notably excellent leather combined with sophisticated shoe technology. The features of each Mephisto pair are what differentiate it from other shoes. These features are:• Shock absorbing feature – this protects the heel from hard impact moves.• Air bag system – the Mephisto air bag system is built into the heel of the shoe and in the metatarsal arch that helps protect feet from jarring and long rugged walking.• Multi-grip soles – the soles of Mephisto shoes were developed for safe walking even on wet and slippery surfaces.• Air active cushioned soles – a deep latex cushion holds your feet tighlty against the insole. Tiny air bubbles provide added shock absorption.• Air jet air circulation system – the toe of the shoe is connected to the back of the shoe of the shoe through air channels.• Midsoles – most shoes are developed with either the heel or toe as priority areas; Mephisto was designed to incorporate not only the toe and heel, but also the mid sole.• Removable insoles – designed to act as a protective base for the feet.• Padded toplines –you don’t feel any part of your feet rub against the material unlike some shoes where rubbing and friction just below the ankle make it uncomfortable to walk after awhile.• Heel and joint cushioning – the feet have tiny bones which need as much protection as the heel and arch.• Anatomical arch support – Mephisto shoes understand feet morphology this knowledge is integrated into the design. For these reasons, among others, Mephisto shoes are better than your average shoes. Feet absorb plenty of pressure and shock; we are standing and walking throughout most of the day so our feet do indeed need to be treated with care.Don’t let the “walking” description fool you. Mephisto shoes were also made for hiking, playing golf, boating and trekking. Men and women have a wide choice of styles, depending on the purpose.Men’s ShoesWhile Mephisto shoes are not the most inexpensive shoes around, you do get what you pay for. Some shoes might wear out after 12 months of use, or just may not be up for every day use, but Mephisto shoes will last you a lifetime. For men’s casual shoes, here are a few of their many styles:• Abel – made of Goodyear Welt 360 degree construction, dyed leathers and utmost flexibility• Baduard – natural leathers and Nubuck. Has special shock absorbing mechanism to protect the spine, heel and vertebra• Ebbo – leather is weather-repellent. Built with a latex midsole for supreme comfort.Women’s SandalsTo give you a peek into women’s sandals (Mephisto also manufactures casual, dress, and sporty shoes for women), here are a few styles:• Accalia – for the woman who will wear only sandals. This has a cork footbed providing above average cushion and comfort. • Adilia – a latex foam rests in between genuine velour leather and natural cork, giving you the feeling as though you are walking in the clouds. The heel measures one inch and this shoe has buckles that will not give way, even in all day walking trips. • Altina – developed with the same concepts and technology as the Accalia and Adilia, but the Altina has a sturdier appearance and feel.Mephisto ResolingApart from the handmade design and advanced technology, one important detail should not be overlooked, and this is what makes Mephisto better than your average shoe. After you have broken-in your pair of Mephisto shoes, you can have them re-conditioned to look brand new. The company will do this using the same process that went into the initial manufacturing. The sole, mid-sole and innersole will be replaced, the bottoms and uppers cleaned, and repairs will be made to the rings and buckles if necessary. Again, because everything is done by hand, the resoling may take around 4-6 weeks. If you prefer to do this process yourself, you can always order a resole kit that comes complete with instructions.

A shirt is a cloth garment for the upper body. Originally an undergarment worn exclusively by men, it has become in American English a catch-all term for almost any upper-body garment other than outerwear such as sweaters or coats, or undergarments such as bras. The term “top” is sometimes used in lady wear. In British English, a shirt is more specifically a garment with a collar, sleeves with cuffs, and a full vertical opening with buttons. This is known in American English as a “button-up” shirt or dress shirt.

History of Shirt

The world’s oldest preserved garment, discovered by Flinders Petrie, is a “highly sophisticated” linen shirt from a First Dynasty Egyptian tomb at Tarkan, ca. 3000B.C. : “the shoulders and sleeves have been finely pleated to give form-fitting trimness while allowing the wearer room to move. The small fringe formed during weaving along one edge of the cloth has been placed by the designer to decorate the neck opening and side seam.” The shirt was an item of men’s underwear until the twentieth century. Although the woman’s chemise was a closely related garment to the man’s, it is the man’s garment that became the modern shirt. In the Middle Ages it was a plain, undyed garment worn next to the skin and under regular garments. In medieval artworks, the shirt is only visible (uncovered) on humble characters, such as shepherds, prisoners, and penitents. In the seventeenth century men’s shirts were allowed to show, with much the same erotic import as visible underwear today. In the eighteenth century, instead of underpants, men “relied on the long tails of shirts … to serve the function of drawers. Eighteenth century costume historian Joseph Strutt believed that men who did not wear shirts to bed were indecent. Even as late as 1879, a visible shirt with nothing over it was considered improper. The shirt sometimes had frills at the neck or cuffs. In the sixteenth century, men’s shirts often had embroidery, and sometimes frills or lace at the neck and cuffs,[8] and through the eighteenth century long neck frills, or jabots, were fashionable. Colored shirts begin to appear in the early nineteenth century, as can be seen in the paintings of George Caleb Bingham. They were considered casual wear, for lower class workers only, until the twentieth century. For a gentleman, “to wear a sky-blue shirt was unthinkable in 1860 but had become standard by 1920 and, in 1980, constituted the most commonplace event.” European and American women began wearing shirts in 1861, when the “Garibaldi Blouse”, a red shirt as worn by the freedom fighters under Giuseppe Garibaldi, became fashionable.

Types of shirt

1) Camp shirt — a loose, straight-cut, short sleeved shirt or blouse with a simple placket front-opening and a “camp collar.”

2) Dress shirt — shirt with a collar, a full-length opening at the front from the collar to the hem, and sleeves with cuffs

Quayabera — an embroidered dress shirt with four pockets.

3) T-shirt — also “tee shirt”, a casual shirt without a collar or buttons, made of a stretchy, finely knit fabric, usually cotton, and usually short-sleeved. Originally worn under other shirts, it is now a common shirt for everyday wear in some countries.

Ringer T-shirt — tee with a separate piece of fabric sewn on as the collar and sleeve hems

Halfshirt — a high-hemmed t-shirt A-shirt or construction shirt or singlet (in British English) — essentially a sleeveless t-shirt with large armholes and a large neck hole, often worn by labourers or athletes for increased movability. Sometimes called a “wife beater” when worn without a covering layer. Camisole — woman’s undershirt with narrow straps, or a similar garment worn alone (often with bra). Also referred to as a cami, shelf top, spaghetti straps or strappy top.

4) tennis shirt, golf shirt, or polo shirt — a pullover soft collar short-sleeved shirt with an abbreviated button placket at the neck and a longer back than front (the “tennis tail”). Rugby shirt — a long-sleeved polo shirt, traditionally of rugged construction in thick cotton or wool, but often softer today. Henley shirt — a collarless polo shirt.

5) Baseball shirt — usually distinguished by a three quarters sleeve, team insignia, and flat waistseam

6) Sweatshirt — long-sleeved athletic shirt of heavier material, with or without hood.

7) Tunic — primitive shirt, distinguished by two-piece construction. Initially a men’s garment, is normally seen in modern times being worn by women.

shirtwaist — historically (circa. 1890-1920) a woman’s tailored shirt (also called a “tailored waist”) cut like a man’s dress shirt; in contemporary usage, a woman’s dress cut like a men’s dress shirt to the waist, then extended into dress length at the bottom

9) nightshirt — often oversized, ruined or inexpensive light cloth undergarment shirt for sleeping.

10) sleeveless shirt — A shirt with no sleeves. Contains only neck, bottom hem, body, and sometimes shoulders depending on type Halter top — a shoulderless, sleeveless garment for women. It is mechanically analogous to an apron with a string around the back of the neck and across the lower back holding it in place.

Tops that would generally not be considered shirts:

1) onesie or diaper shirt — a shirt for infants which includes a long back that is wrapped between the legs and buttoned to the front of the shirt 2) sweaters — heavy knitted upper garments 3) jackets, coats and similar outerwear 4) tube top (in American English) or boob tube (in British English) — a shoulderless, sleeveless “tube” that wraps the torso not reaching higher than the armpit, staying in place by elasticity or by a single strap that is attached to the front of the tube

Parts of shirts

Many terms are used to describe and differentiate types of shirts (and upper-body garments in general) and their construction. The smallest differences may have significance to a cultural or occupational group. Recently, (late 20th century) it has become common to use tops to carry messages or advertising. Many of these distinctions apply to other upper-body garments, such as coats and sweaters. 1) Shoulders and arms Sleeves Shirts may: * have no covering of the shoulders or arms — a tube top (not reaching higher than the armpits, staying in place by elasticity) * have only shoulder straps, such as spaghetti straps * cover the shoulders, but without sleeves * have short sleeves, varying from cap sleeves (not extending below the armpit) to half sleeves (elbow length) * have three-quarter-length sleeves (reaching to a point between the elbow and the wrist) Cuffs Shirts with long sleeves may further be distinguished by the cuffs: * no buttons — a closed placket cuff * buttons (or analogous fasteners such as snaps) — single or multiple. A single button or pair aligned parallel with the cuff hem is considered a button cuff. Multiple buttons aligned perpendicular to the cuff hem, or parallel to the placket constitute a barrel cuff. * buttonholes designed for cufflinks o a French cuff, where the end half of the cuff is folded over the cuff itself and fastened with a cufflink. This type of cuff has four buttons and a short placket. o more formally, a link cuff — fastened like a French cuff, except is not folded over, but instead hemmed, at the edge of the sleeve. * asymmetrical designs, such as one-shoulder, one-sleeve or with sleeves of different lengths. Lower hem of shirt * leaving the belly button area bare (much more common for women than for men). See halfshirt. * hanging to the waist * covering the crotch * covering part of the legs (essentially this is a dress; however, a piece of clothing is perceived either as a shirt (worn with trousers) or as a dress (in Western culture mainly worn by women)). * going to the floor (as a pajama shirt) Body * vertical opening on the front side, all the way down, with buttons or zipper. When fastened with buttons, this opening is often called the placket front. * similar opening, but in back. * left and right front side not separable, put on over the head; with regard to upper front side opening: o V-shaped permanent opening on the top of the front side o no opening at the upper front side o vertical opening on the upper front side with buttons or zipper + men’s shirts are often buttoned on the right whereas women’s are often buttoned on the left. Neck * with polo-neck * with v-neck but no collar * with plunging neck * with open or tassel neck * with collar windsor collar or spread collar — a dressier collar designed with a wide distance between points (the spread) to accommodate the windsor knot tie. The standard business collar. tab collar — a collar with two small fabric tabs that fasten together behind a tie to maintain collar spread. wing collar — best suited for the bow tie, often only worn for very formal occasions. straight collar — or point collar, a version of the windsor collar that is distinguished by a narrower spread to better accommodate the four-in-hand knot, pratt knot, and the half-windsor knot. A moderate dress collar. button-down collar — A collar with buttons that fasten the points or tips to a shirt.
Foot problems are surprisingly common. In fact, it is estimated that around 75% of people in the United States will experience some kind of foot pain or a problem at point in their life. Our feet can sometimes serve as an indication of our overall health. Certain conditions, such as diabetes and arthritis, can be noticeable in your feet at first, before affecting the rest of the body later in life.

Insoles can significantly help to treat various foot ailments. They can help to alleviate the often painful effects of fallen or weak arches, and they are also good for the relief of heel pain and for reducing stress on the back and knees. One of the largest and certainly one of the most respected manufacturers of insoles today is Superfeet, a company based in Washington that distributes not only across the United States, but also to Japan, Europe and Australia.

Superfeet was formed in 1977 but has had its beginnings back in the mid 1970’s, as part of a well known podiatric laboratory. Superfeet has always been an industry leader and today the company holds over 40 patents for foot care products. Superfeet often have their name in the news, including the top story explaining that the company was recently named as providers of the official insole of the Canadian Snowboard Federation. Their insoles also survived an 8,000 mile trek across the Andes Mountains in South America, in 2008.

Choosing the right insole is important and Superfeet offers a wide variety of insoles, not only for different shapes and sizes of feet, but designed for different sports and activities as well. Athletes that run, hike, cycle, and snowboard have all benefitted from insoles created by Superfeet. Many of us are so busy that we just do not have time to get a healthy amount of exercise. Superfeet has managed to not only cater to athletes, but the working class as well. They have ingeniously created an insole designed specifically for a dress shoe, and one that is intended to be worn at work.

Some Superfeet insoles are designed specifically for people who have special needs. The company’s black unisex insole is intended for those who need tighter fitting shoes, or those who have difficulty wearing supportive orthotic devices due to sensitive feet. The insole can be used with a range of different footwear, such as casual and dress shoes, as well as shoes designed for mountain biking and golfing. As with the company’s other products, it is available in several different sizes.

Designed to be used by people who need to wear a tighter fitting shoe, the Superfeet black DMP can be used effectively and comfortably with just about any type of footwear including athletic footwear, golf shoes, mountain biking shoes, casual and dress shoes. The Superfeet DMP insole is also particularly suitable for people suffering from low arches. It is also said to help prevent foot odor and reduce the growth of bacteria with its Agion antimicrobial top cover treatment.

Superfeet has an insole that can be used with high heels as well. The DressFit insert for women’s high heels can be used with all high heeled shoes that have heels over an inch. The DressFit has several benefits including providing complete support for the foot and helping to relieve foot pain as well as knee strain. The insole is easy to use and is almost invisible. It is available in a range of sizes, ensuring that any woman in high heels can feel both elegant and comfortable.

Superfeet also does its part for the military by manufacturing insoles that are designed specifically for heavier and more prolonged use. Superfeet premium insoles are designed to redistribute the wearer’s weight, align the body and generally lessen the impact of marching or standing for long periods of time. The insoles can be used just as effectively during a training session, or during actual combat.

One of the company’s most recent insoles is an innovative cold weather insole, which is designed specifically for use in sports such as skiing and snowboarding. The new cold weather insole is available for men’s or women’s shoes and the technology helps to provide stability, absorb shocks and help to keep the user’s feet warm, by regulating the temperatures inside the shoe. The cold weather insole is available in a range of bright colors and designed to appeal to younger generations.

Insoles have several benefits since they are easy to use, relatively inexpensive and can be an effective alternative to more complicated foot procedures, such as surgery. Regardless of your foot shape and size, there is an insole to fit you. Superfeet have been pioneers in the foot care field and have been helping people to walk more comfortably for over thirty years.

It appears that the manufacturer of ECCO shoes have crafted their line of footwear with the family in mind. Their product line is as versatile as the temperaments and hobbies of each member of the family. ECCO shoes not only cater to the discriminating athlete, but also to the elegant office worker or the child in constant motion. It has more shoe styles than there are personality types. This versatility is not only reflected in the various styles for men, women and children, but also in the models, colors, sizes and purpose of each shoe. Whether it’s for a safari adventure, office wear, rugged outdoor activity, or simply for lounging around, ECCO shoes have the right style for you.ECCO Shoes: Huge VarietyECCO shoes have roughly about 1,500 different styles for men, women, and children. So when it comes to choices, you have a dizzying array of shoes to choose from. ECCO shoes knows that all feet were not created the equal. ECCO shoe styles come in three different types: boots, shoes and sandals. For men and women, shoe styles are categorized into “business”, “outdoor”, “casual”, “active motion” and “golf.” If a man was looking for a pair of ECCO shoes to wear to the office, he would have about 71 styles to choose from. A few examples of these styles are:• Montreux – this is a moccasin shoe made of very soft and flexible deerskin. This shoe was designed to absorb moisture thanks to its breathable leather lining. It has the built-in ECCO Comfort Fibre system with a lightweight sole. • Miami – for the sophisticated office worker who goes for premium calf leather and who likes the look of antique brushed leather. It also has the ECCO Comfort Fibre System for sufficient circulation. Men can also select from outdoor and golf styles. For instance, the golf Classic has a heel grip made of microfibers and is designed with the ECCO sandwich combination of Cambrelle, ECCO CFS and an EVA shell. It also has a GORE-TEX® membrane and is waterproof.A woman looking for a pair of ECCO casual shoes can choose from the Identity Sandal (an open toe sandal with microfibers and breathable leather lining), or the Retro Sneaker style (for a hardwearing but lightweight feel, this shoe was also designed with the ECCO Comfort Fibre System) and breathable lining that absorbs moisture. Shoe styles for women looking for casual wear will also enjoy the Rock. The Rock is a favorite of many. It grips easily into any kind of surface for added security, and was developed with the Receptor® technology that provides above-average performance and stability. The upper part of the Rock style features the Nubuck component for that athletic yet feminine look. Other casual styles for women include the Exercise Walker, the Travelite, and Vision, to name a few.As far as kids’ styles go, the variety of ECCO shoes will delight parents with active children. Boys, for instance, will like the Python Sandal, it has Nubuck and textile components that make it extremely soft and comfortable. It has a microfiber-covered EVA footbed that will not scratch or cause friction, no matter how rugged your boy is. Other styles for boys are the Bumerang (if you’re looking for performance with multi color rubber outsoles), the William Sandal (described as durable and practical, it has a thermoplastic rubber sole) or the K-Cross (made with GORE-TEX®).Young girls will love the unique and dainty GSI or the Girls Summerday (vintage leather and metallic leather uppers). Other styles include the Victoria line and the K-Cross styles. What are Your Feet Up to?To decide which ECCO shoe style is right for you, you will need to ask yourself a few questions. What are my feet are up to, what exactly do they want to do, how can I make them feel better? Your answer’s to these questions should determine how to use the selection chart for the most appropriate style. If you are looking for casual footwear, ECCO should have a generous array of styles for you to choose from. You can narrow your choices by choosing the color or colors (there are about 15), and then you can decide whether you want boots, shoes or sandals. Many ECCO shoes were designed for people with normal to sensitive feet. If your feet are extra sensitive, you will probably want to go with better quality materials like leather or maybe deerskin. If your feet tend to sweat a lot, you might want to go for a breathable lining so your shoe can absorb some of the moisture. You also might want to choose a style that allows plenty of air circulation inside the shoe. In the spring and summer seasons, the open toe sandal styles of ECCO ensure not only comfort but also performance.
